Week #68 -- Changing Tire, Schedule Change and New Investigators

Hello Everybody!!!

Wow! A lot has happened this past week which is exciting to tell.

First off on Wednesdays, we got to go to DeLand for a Worldwide Broadcast from the General Authorities of the Church. They explained to us some of the changes that they were making in how we did things as missionaries. Especially the schedule we have as missionaries. Basically give us more control of what we do like give us more time to sleep. We still have to get up at 6:30 but we are able to go to by at 9:30 instead of 10:30. Also changing Key Indicators, which is what we use as missionaries to track like how many lesson we teach and stuff like that but we now won't be doing that. So that was pretty cool.

Later that day as we were stopping by to see people I noticed that the tire pressure light came on and so I figured we would have to put air in the tire later but as we were coming back to the car as we were seeing some one we heard a noise. The sound of air coming out of the tire didn't make things better. So we then hurried home and I had the wonderful time putting the spare tire on. Don't worry I got pics. And also that night we were going on exchanges with our DL. The next day wasn't the best day cause Elder Harris and I stayed here in NSB. We also have been experiencing problems in the house like a leak coming from somewhere which made ruined a lot of the carpet in the living room part. The guy who is fixing the leak came that morning so we had to wait till he came so we could drive to DeLand to get the tire fixed and of course the car had something else wrong with it which made us be there longer. But we later got to meet with a family and the husband isn't a member. It was a really awesome lesson and he is really interested which is awesome!!

Yesterday a family had us over for dinner and they had one of there friends over and so we got to talk to them about the church and the wife was really interested in learning but not sure about the husband; but that should change. Sadly they didn't make it to church today. The good news is that another couple that aren't members were at church today; we have been trying to see them ever since we got here, but haven't been able to get in contact with them. It was super awesome and we will be able to see them this week.

A lot of super cool things are happening and seeing the Lords hand in the work.

I love you all!!!

Week #67 -- Moldy Donuts, Rocket Launch and Tornadoes

Hello Everybody!!!

Hope you y'all had a great week and was filled with blessings from the lord.

This past week was a little crazy. Got to do a lot of service this week with some members. Helped Brother Jenkins put his Solar Panels back up. Anything with Brother Jenkins is always a "BLAST". Hahaha.  Lots of laughter.

Finally got to see a great lady this past week that we've been missing. She is doing well and has been stressed out a lot with moving. She finally found a house and starting to pack. We will be going over this week to help her pack. I love her so much. I'm going to be very sad to see her leave.

Other than that the teaching this week was a little slow than we thought it would be. Spent a lot of time knocking on doors with no one opening them. Eventually one will open.

A couple cool stories from this past week was I ate some moldy donuts. We were at Habitat for Humanity and after we are done they always have snacks in the break room for everyone to have and I saw some donuts that they had there so I had grab some and we left. As we are driving back I eat the first one and kinda a weird taste to them. But I ignored it and kept eating them. I get through half of the bag and then look and see mold!!! I about freaked out. The sad part is I had no were to spit the one I had in my mouth out. The worst part is I got sick from it the next day.

There was also a rocket launch this past week. We didn't know this until like an hour before it was gonna launch. The best part it was at night time and I haven't seen one at night yet. Plus it would Elder Amiott's first one the only problem is we had a lessons right after that so we didn't get to see it but got to see a video by the one and only Elder Thayne down in Cocoa.

Then the most recent fun news was last night. Last night we got a tornado warning ⚠️!!!!! It got pretty crazy last night with the wind rain and of course lightning and thunder!! The lightning and thunder didn't get to bad so it didn't keep me up to late last night which is good.

I would like to share with you and talk that I found a couple days ago about change. It has definitely given me a better look about how I can improve to gain eternal glory. There is given 4 simple steps to change.

1. Ask for Direction:  We sometimes forget, when making plans to improve, to check in with the ONE who has made the Plan. There are many spots in the scriptures where it tells us that "He will direct our paths" only if we will ask him in faith.

2. Think Small: We need to start with the small things. We sometime want to make these big changes and a lot of times we will fail. Smaller adjustments over time can bring greater balance and peace to our lives. If a person wants to get more fit, they can't just got one time and be magically ripped. (If it was that way it would be awesome!! Cause I need it!! Haha) But if this life was like that then we wouldn't be able to progress nor learn.

3. Time to Reflect: Regular self-checking ensures we’re making progress (and give us a chance to make adjustments when we’re not). Simply asking, “How am I doing so far?” goes a long way.
Sacrament is the perfect time to reflect and recommit to making those spiritual goals that we want to reach.

4. Keep Trying: “One of God’s greatest gifts,” President Monson said, “is the joy of trying again, for no failure ever need be final.” Don’t let discouragement get the best of you when you fail at first (or second or third). Nobody is perfect and our Heavenly Father doesn't expect us to reach that in this life. He does expect us to try and keep trying everyday. That's what the Atonement of Jesus Christ is for. It is there for us to be able to change.

I want to bear you all my testimony of my savior Jesus Christ. I know that he came to this earth to help us. To give us the tools to help us change. All we have to do is use it.

I love this gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. I am so grateful to be a messenger of the good news.

Week #66 -- Miracles and Daytona Speedway!!

Hello Everybody!!!

Hope everyone had a good week!! A lot of amazing this happened this past week.

To start of, I get to STAY in NSB with.......Elder......Amiott!!!! I am so happy that i get to stay with Elder Amiott for another 6 weeks. He is so awesome and gonna make some awesome things happen with the help of the Lord.

The beginning of the week was pretty good. I haven't mentioned that we do service every Tuesday at a place called Habitat for Humanity. It's really fun and get to talk to a lot of people. Enjoy the time that we get to spend there plus I have been able to invest in a couple Beach Shirts which are super cool.

Also a couple weeks ago Elder Amiott and I got to go to Daytona International Speedway.  It's was so awesome.  Was so worth it.  The entire tour was about an hour and a half but they took us pretty much all over the place. They took literally on the track and got to stand at the finish line. Sadly I forgot my sharpie so I was able to sign the finish line. We also got to see Victory lane and got pics there too. It was super awesome.

On Thursday, I got to go on exchanges with Elder Haderlie and we stayed in NSB.  It such an awesome day. Saw a lot of miracles that day.  One really cool thing that happened is we got to meet a neat lady. We didn't plan to stop by her home but felt like we needed to so we did. Right as we got there she pulled up. We then had a awesome lesson with her about the restoration. She was very excited about reading the Book of Mormon.  We are planning on seeing her and the rest of the family this week.

Well hope you all have a great week.  Loves!!!

Week #65 -- It's 2017!!!

Hello Everybody!!!

Sorry I didn't send one last week. We got to take a Tour of the Daytona International speedway!! It was super cool I'll send pics.

Hope you all had a wonderful time lighting fireworks and staying up till midnight!! The first four paragraphs are from two weeks ago of what happened and the rest is what happened last week

I have had a lot of time to be able to reflect on the past year as being a missionary and thinking about the amazing experiences I have had. Sadly it's coming to a close very soon which has given me more urgency to make sure I'm doing all the things that the lord needs me to do.

This past week we have just seen many miracles. A lot of them happen cause Elder Amiott and I have really trying to be guided by the spirit. Through out this week we have both had promptings from the spirit to stop my certain people and we were then able to see them and have an awesome spiritual experience with them. For example, one of them became a new investigator which is awesome.

I also got to go on exchanges this past week with my wonderful District Leader, Elder Hummer, in Deltona.  He is a Spanish speaking missionary and it brought a lot of memories from when I was with Elder Isaacson in Apopka. Those were some fun times!  We had a wonderful day and got to see a lot of people. A lot of the lesson were in Spanish but to my surprise I was able to understand a lot more than I did with Elder Isaacson. I can only assume that it was the Lord helping me in those lesson and being able to know what to share and Elder Hummer translated. It was awesome.

A really coo experience this week was with our wonderful investigator. I absolutely love her. She is so awesome. She is a Florida native and really loves the Lord. We planed to met with her this Wednesday with Brother and Sister Griffitts, but our investigator invited us both over for lunch yesterday after church. We then got to have a wonderful lesson with her about baptism. She has been having a hard time understanding the Book of Mormon and has been praying to know if it's true every time she reads it, but hasn't gotten an answer. Brother Griffitts was able to bare a strong testimony about the Book of Mormon and assured her that she will get her answer. Elder Amiott and I were then impressed to commit her to an baptismal date. She ACCEPTED!! We have made a goal for her to be baptized on Feb 4th!! I'm so excited and happy for her.

Got to see a lot of really cool miracles. Got to Take the young man from the ward with us a couple times and he is just awesome. He really is enjoying come out with us and he is preparing for a mission!!! I'm so excited for him. He also bore his testimony yesterday and I am so grateful to be apart of his life and see the transformation in him.

Also got to go on another exchange with our wonderful ZLs. I got to go with Elder Goff in Daytona and Elder Dummer stayed with Elder Amiott in NSB. We had a wonderful time see the people that are working with. It such an awesome feeling going from appointment to appointment. Really enjoyed my time in Daytona.

There are some new investigators that we are slowly getting which is always exciting. Don't have too much to talk about them cause it was quick visits and really didn't get to much into detail with them. But we do have a return appointment later this week which is exciting.

I hope you all have had a wonderful week!! Loves!!
